At the same time Rafe is horrified to learn that Sami told Nicole he is back in town. EJ overhears Arianna and Rafe talking about the DNA test performed on Sydney. EJ tells Stefano what he heard and Stefano tells Nicole that Rafe must be eliminated. Rafe receives the DNA results proving that Sydney is Sami’s daughter. Nicole tries to talk Stefano out of killing Rafe. Mia and Nicole argue about how Mia’s life has been ruined all so Nicole could have Sydney. EJ questions Stefano about the hit he placed on Rafe. Stefano tries to cover and EJ feels betrayed. Pretending to accept Stefano’s reasoning EJ vows to uncover the truth Tuesday, November 10. EJ saves Rafe from the assassin. Rafe stops EJ before he can get his hands on the folder containing the DNA results. EJ alerts Stefano that the assassin has given up Stefano as the person who hired him. Stefano skips town leaving Kate in charge. Rafe and EJ are brought to the police station for questioning. Rafe asks Roman to be released so that he can give Sami some great news. Roman wonders whose side EJ is on after learning that he was the one to stop the assassin. Sami demands that Nicole tell her what information Rafe has regarding Nicole and Sydney. Nicole insists that Rafe is only lying to come between Sami and Nicole. Sami doesn’t believe Nicole and insists that Nicole tell her the truth. Believing that Rafe will be dead soon Nicole lets her emotions get the best of her. Nicole overhears a conversation between Rafe and Sami and realizes that he survived Stefano’s attack. Nicole rushes out to grab Sydney and run only to learn that Sydney is no longer at the DiMera mansion. Sami meets with Rafe and he tells her that her daughter is alive. Rafe finally convinces Sami of the truth on Thursday, November 12. Sami tells Rafe that she wants to go to her baby. Rafe stops from calling Nicole and urges Sami to do things his way. Sami and Rafe go to the DiMera mansion in search of Sydney only to learn from Mary that the baby is not there. An anxious Nicole learns that Kate was the last one to have Sydney and races off to the police station where Kate torments her. A stunned Nicole realizes that EJ is the on that interrupted the attempt on Rafe’s life. EJ suspects that Nicole was in on the hit and tells her that her secret is about to blow up. Kate tells Nicole where she can find Sydney. When Nicole arrives at Daniel and Chloe’s, Daniel refuses to let her have Sydney. Chloe diffuses the situation and has a talk with Nicole, who tells her that Sydney’s birth parents may try to take her away. A desperate Nicole asks Chloe to take Sydney and hide her. Since nobody knows that Sami is the birth mother, why are all these people passing Sydney around without telling Nicole, the mother they know of, where her baby is? Why is Daniel refusing to let Nicole take Sydney? It obviously isn't because he knows of the switch, so what gives him the right?
